What to do in Hollywood

April 3, 2015

With a city as large as Los Angeles, it is no surprise that there is plenty to do. However, what may come as a surprise is the variety of activity in Los Angeles. For a city known for the upscale shopping of Rodeo Drive and the wild antics of Hollywood stars, Los Angeles also provides a plethora of entertainment for those interested in academia and the arts.

There are countless things to do near  Hollywood Colony
beautiful apartments for rent. A few among them are the Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Griffith Observatory. Designed by Frank Gehry, The Walt Disney Concert Hall shares Gehry’s signature warped steel aesthetic, similar to the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao, Spain and the stage in Millennium Park in Chicago. The concert hall hosts acts such as the Los Angeles Philharmonic and Emanuel Ax. The concert hall is only seven miles from Hollywood Colony.

The
Griffith Observatory, only four and a half miles from Hollywood Colony, is perfect for those that have maintained a lifelong love for learning about the wonders of the universe! And it gets even better—admission to the observatory and grounds is free and there is a small fee for seeing shows in the Samuel Oschin Planetarium. Most of the special events are free as well and there are enough of them to keep an avid stargazer busy throughout every week and weekend. During January alone, they have hosted viewing of Comet Lovejoy, a public star party, and a sunset walk and talk given by a park ranger.

For those that need a getaway from the city, the
Self Realization Fellowship Lake Shrine Temple is a forty-minute drive away. This ten-acre spiritual site offers beautiful gardens and quiet serenity for those needing a break from the hustle and bustle of everyday life in LA.

Another one of our premium apartment spots is
Beachwood Tower lofts for rent, offers some of what LA is better known for in the nearby Hollywood Hills. Frederick’s of Hollywood Lingerie Museum, LA Insider Tours, and Amoeba Music are all nearby.

Most know the famous Frederick’s simply as a lingerie store; however it is also a fascinating museum where the curious can take a gander at the undergarments of the rich and famous, from the likes of Mae West to Tom Hanks.

For those that new to the area,
LA Insider Tours take you to all of the Hollywood and Los Angeles must-sees, or you can build your own tour based specifically on your interests. Amoeba Music is the perfect stop for music lovers of all shapes and sizes. With an astonishingly extensive collection, you are sure to find something you like.

Both our Hollywood Colony and Beachwood residences offer extensive entertainment sure to keep our residents entertained for as long as they live in our apartments.
